Does this huge heatsink actually help performance? IE: is this router particularly prone to locking up due to heat issues?

I have a Linksys router I keep inside an AV cabinet that I've thought about attaching some kind of larger heatsink to, just because now and then it has a tendency to lock up, and I'm left wondering if it might be from heat. Luckily it's not a huge problem, -locks maybe once a month.

Nice review site!

Hey Max, glad you liked it. Steve from HardOCP thought it was pretty cool too. I enjoy reading both you and Steve on the web. It's probably one of the simplest mods out there but people seem to think it's cool. I think it looks neat myself. I always touch the warmth of the heatsink and remember how SCORCHING hot the little heatsink got and it makes me smile.... I'm such a goober.
