22″ LCD: Westinghouse LCM-22W2 vs. Samsung 225BW

There are so many different companies that make LCD monitors today, it’s hard to know which one is the best. When we narrow it to only the 22″ variety, that slims our options down a bit, but there are still plenty of them to choose from. My aim with this article is to help you choose from two that I think to be the best with the best price. Of course there are better 22″ LCD monitors out there than the Samsung 225BW and the Westinghouse LCM-22W2, but not necessarily of better value. Both of these monitors are around the same price range, sometimes one cheaper than the other because of sales and such. If you find yourself in the situation where they’re both about the same price and you’re not sure what to get, this article will hopefully help you reach a decision painlessly.

First, let’s compare the specifications of both monitors:

As you can see, they’re both very, very similar. They have the same viewable area, the viewing angles of both are very good, with the Westinghouse being a meager 10 degrees better on the horizontal, and the rest of the specs are pretty much the same. The 225BW is slightly smaller than the LCM-22W2 and features a better warranty, but the LCM-22W2 has speakers, which might be advantageous to some people.
