Welcome to ReviewDesk.com ...
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your decision to visit this review website.  In case you didn't infer what this website is about from the name "ReviewDesk," well, we review stuff.  We review technology... any tangible technology that we can get our hands on.
In case you're looking for a reason why you should go to ReviewDesk.com instead of some other review website, I can only think of one: because ReviewDesk.com makes the best reviews.  Sometimes.  They should be easy to read, at the very least.
Please look below this text for some links to other websites with technology-related reviews along with random ramblings and updates from this website.  One thing you might notice is that most of the reviews that I link to are of computer-related stuff.  Yeah, that's what happens.  Basically, this is why: nerds write reviews, nerds like nerdy things, and computers are generally considered nerdy.  It's simple.

I checked my ReviewDesk e-mail finally…

Monday, April 11th, 2011 by Maxwell

…and there was an offer to review a power supply. Unfortunately, it was about a month old, but I told them that if they’re still interested in sending it, I’m interested in reviewing it.

Therefore, there may just be a new review to go along with the new design I’ve been working on.

Speaking of the new design, it’s pretty sweet looking so far. I’m actually really close to being finished, so it should be up within the next couple of days. Hopefully you’ll like it as much as I do.

Alright, I’m going for it.

I found some time, so I’m going to redo the design of this website.

I’m going to try and make it look as professional as possible, and have it be completely viewable at 800×600 (something I like to do with all websites I make).

Here we go!

Now that I’m pro with CSS…

Saturday, February 12th, 2011 by Maxwell

This website is the first site I ever designed with CSS. That’s why it’s simple.

Since the creation of this website, I have designed a few others, and have gotten pretty good with CSS. Because of this, I’ve been considering maybe redesigning ReviewDesk.com. The only problem with this is time.

You’re probably wondering, “If you’re such a pro at CSS, then why does it take you so much time?” The short answer is: cross-browser compatibility. CSS is rendered differently in different aspects on all the different browsers out there. It sucks. I can make a sweet design that looks super awesome in Firefox in 1-2 days, in my spare time. But then guess what happens when I look at it in Internet Explorer or perhaps even Opera? It looks all stupid.

So, let’s see. Maybe if I can get the motivation to write a few more reviews, I’ll go ahead and take the leap and make a new design. I want to write reviews, I really do, but I’m so busy. It sucks.

So, StarCraft 2 should be pretty sweet..

I will admit it, I love StarCraft. For a game that came out in 1998, it’s really awesome. Even if it was just made last year, it’s still awesome. It’s a timeless classic, really. I might even go as far as saying it’s the best game ever.

So, if it’s the best game ever, I would imagine that it’s going to be pretty difficult for it to be BETTER than the first one. Really, though, if it’s just like the first one, but with better graphics and new units, I would be pretty happy. And from the screen shots located here, it looks like it’s going to be very similar.

One of the best features of StarCraft is the ability to easily create maps, and the “Use Map Settings” aspect of the game. Yeah, fighting an opponent the way the game intended you to is cool, but sometimes you just want to chill out and play some Sunken D or V-Tec Paintball, ya know? I hope the new one will have similar features. What would be REALLY cool is if you could play old SC maps in SC2. That would be amazing. Especially with the fancy new graphics.

I’m pretty happy that StarCraft 2 is supposed to come out sometime this year, and I hope that it does. I really look forward to it.

My PageRank went down.

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010 by Maxwell

Well, I checked out my page rank, and it has actually gone down. For the front page, at least.

I’m not sure why, but I have a theory:

I think that because I had so many links leading away from the site on the front page, Google thinks my site is spammy.

Therefore, I deleted a lot of the “news and reviews” type posts, to see if that’ll fix it.

I’ll probably end up making another page just for reviews on other sites.. when I get around to updating the site.

Until next time.

I can’t believe I haven’t done anything for this site. Time is just flying by.

I got a new job, and when that’s paired with my school, it really sucks up all of my time. Kinda crazy. Not that I’m complaining, though. I enjoy having my time occupied. As my good friend Monsoor once said to me, “it isn’t good to have idle time.” Man, that guy’s a hard worker.

I do have these things to review. I’ve been trying to get my friend Evan to review one of them for me, and he’s supposed to, but I just haven’t been able to drop it off to him. I keep forgetting it. Other things on my mind, I guess.

If you regularly check out my site to see if I’ve updated it, I apologize. I really don’t mean to neglect it.

You know what’s funny? I’m actually getting a lot of hits daily. Like, more than I did a couple months ago. It’s weird, but I like it. Maybe it’ll fuel me to pay someone to write for me.

If you e-mailed me and I didn’t respond, it’s not because I hate you. It’s simply because I don’t check my e-mail much, and on top of that, “real” correspondences get mixed in with press releases, and get looked over.

That’s the news. Lame, I know, but that’s life.  My life, at least.

Keep it real.

August 13th, 2007 Gneus (the g is silent!)

Friday, August 13th, 2010 by Maxwell

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve kind of decided to chill off of the news posting for awhile.

I figure that there are enough places to find links to reviews of techie equipment, so it’s kinda like reinventing the wheel.   If this bothers anyone, I can totally start posting news again.  Though, since I haven’t received any feedback or comments regarding my lack of updates, I’m just going to assume that we all be aight.

I’ve got a couple reviews that I intend on posting soon.  One of them is on a mouse, and the other is on a really cool looking USB Bluetooth Dongle + 55-in-1 card reader.

So, that’s that.  If you’ve got any input, don’t hesitate to send it my way.

Until next time…
